What fly fishing vest to choose – help
Wading vest material – we recommend the ones that are made of synthetic, breathable and fast drying materials. After getting wet in water, wool vests take longer to dry up, which makes them bad choice for wading as vests get easily wet while wading.
This disadvantage is certainly less noticeable if you are fishing from a boat or a river bank.
The number of pockets in a fly fishing vest is quite important, especially for people who like to have everything at hand. The pockets should be big enough to hold large fly boxes.
When all the boxes and accessories are “loaded” into the vest, its weight may reach even a few kilos. It is advisable to look whether the shoulders of the vest are stiff and whether they will roll or not.
Another element which should be checked is zippers - they should be of good quality. We recommend using vests with YKK zippers.
