Sweat the Details!
Here are some more tips from jigging maestro John Peterson:When fishing jigs, watch your line. Set the hook immediately if you see it move, or feel a tick or slight resistance. If it’s a fish, you’ll catch it; if not, you’ll likely pull it loose.
The best time to jig is when fish are schooled up in a small pocket or contact area. It requires concentration and a very SLOW presentation.
When fishing in strong wind, river current, or deep water, go to a heavier jig and fish vertically.
